I am on Facebook all day long. With a lot of different aspects. Some work, some that are "Tear Jerker" friends, but honestly, thats where I would like to leave it, "Tear Jerkers" friends. Any other "Tear Jerkers" business, I would personally like to leave at "www.TearJerkers.net". I have several reasons.
1. As a director, I can monitor all conversations on 1 forum, and stay up to date on everything thats going on throughout the whole club.
2. Actually, thats about it. If I rely on "Facebook", I will be restricted to only the info going on in my chapter. But I camp with other chapters. I would have to monitor 30 (or so) Chapters "Face Books Pages" instead of just 1 "Tear Jerkers" Page.
So please, please, please, Directors, post all your stuff on TJer's, and members, log in and enjoy the personal feeling you get here at "Tear Jerkers".

I check the facebook page daily, but I use all of the facebook teardrop sites to promote tearjerkers. This platform is difficult for beginners, but it is the only platform that can facilitate a group this large to access this many regions. I wish there was a more user-friendly venue, but if wishes were horses, then beggars would ride.

I hate that this is the only way I can figure out how to post images.

The new data policy also mentions that Facebook can “collect contact information if you choose to upload, sync or import it (such as an address book or call log or SMS log history).” The old version doesn’t mention that, and Facebook took heat last week for collecting this info from some Android users even though they agreed to share it with Facebook

Facebook said the personal data of most of its 2 billion users has been collected and shared with outsiders

Yeah, haven't and won't use FB, but I am a certified Security IT Tech for DLI, Marine Corp and USGS so what do I know. Oh yeah, and former NSA hacker....

I probably miss a lot of stuff here and I need to go check to see if I'm on all the appropriate FB groups. But if you have the app, this is a good platform.

I used to be on Facebook, quit years ago, HATE IT.
When groups I belong to switch to Facebook I usually just quit the group altogether; the move to Facebook seems to drastically change the group/organization/participation vibe, plus I resent the sheeple-herd mentality of "but Facebook is mandatory!".

A company run by sociopaths. Sure, Facebook is "easy", it's "convenient", it IS a great way to get info about all kinds of topics & events. But that's part of pretty-poison design. The ease & convenience is a pleasant byproduct of the FB platform. But it's not what Facebook is really about, or what it was originally [and still is] designed to do: Facebook always was & still is ALL about collecting, archiving, selling, using data about every aspect of your life, with a heavy focus on gathering info on who you know & associate with, i.e your circle, your associates, your connections.

Despite the misinformed or the disinfo pros who claim to have "debunked" this one, the facts prove otherwise. Yes, Facebook DOES use your phone's microphone to listen to-- and record-- your conversations:

Sure, you CAN use Facebook to post pics of your lunch or your vacation, but that's not really why it exists:

Think I need a nondisclosure form if people take a picture of my teardrop

"As Facebook's facial recognition technology advanced, its identification of persons in photos—who might not even know a photo was taken of them—represents privacy problems and a violation of the company's agreement to get users' consent, the groups say. "The scanning of facial images without express, affirmative consent is unlawful and must be enjoined," the groups say in the complaint.

For many, FACEBOOK is like Walmart. I don't like the place, but I shop there. I have 2 FB friends but am a member of about eight camping groups...lots of good info to be gleaned from what I find to generally be a wasteland of emotion and drama. You all can rest easy now, as I'm pretty sure you were all wondering what I think...

I use it daily and often wondered why Tearjerkers didn't have more of a social media presence.
